New Job Coming!!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I have a brand new job coming in a few days in washington,dc at Symplicity with my friend BP. I’m going to be a PHP developer working with from what i hear a great framework. This has made me spend sometime polishing up my PHP skills since i haven’t been doing much coding with PHP but with Ruby and Python. So far it has been pretty easy to polish them up. Like the old saying just like riding a bike.

USSSA umpire exam

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Well i have been busy studying for the umpire exam for slow pitch softball. What brings this on you ask? Well because of my cousin matt I have been playing softball all summer long. I’m a ok player but I think I would be a better manager or umpire. So I was talking to one of the umpires about how to be coming a umpire. So Neal told me to talk to Donnie who is the Chief Umpire for our league. At the last game we add Donnie gave me the rule book and told me where to go on the USSSA website to get the exam and casebook. I didn’t realize how much it was to umpiring to make sure that you stay fair to everyone. I personally believe the casebook is better study guide then the dam book. So I hope soon I’ll be a official USSSA umpire for slow pitch softball.

What have I been up to

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Here is a quick update on what I have been up. I have been writing a lot of python code for projects using the django web interface frame work. I have been tieing up ends here because its starting to get really close to the time when I’m finally going to be shipping out for the Army. I have made a choice about status reverses or active duty. I’m going to be going Active Duty with Ariborne Ranger option for Cavlary Scout. So i have been trying to see all my friends before the next couple of weeks is over. I’m also finally as of today back to the gym fulltime.

Getting Ready for Ship Out

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Ok people that have come to my site, I’m currently getting ready for shipping out for the US Army. My close friend Mike Klem is going to be handling updates while I’m away for OSUT for the US Army. So he will be making updates about what I’m going though at basic and AIT for the Army.

Heres a little background on klem. Mike is a former USMC and we met at RIT by one of our close friends BP. Mike has offered to give a little weekly post about the current things I’m doing and going though while I’m gone. Considering the Army doesn’t issue a computer or Internet access at basic or AIT.

So check back time to time to see what mike has posted and leave questions and comments for him or me and he will forward them to me in his letters to me. I will be putting a canned auto-reply message on my email account while I’m gone and once I get back I’ll go though all my email and reply to as many as I can in the time I’ll have at home. If there are job offers in the emails, I want to applogize a head of time for the lack of response, its not that I’m ignoring you or turning to you down, its just that I’ve left for the US Army Training and will send a thank you note to you when I return. For those of you that are wondering will I finish up school and try to make it in the civilian world, I will some day, I have been trying to find work in IT since I left RIT a year ago. Since I couldn’t find work, and the army has been in the back of my mind since I was little. I had to make a choice to pay the bills of college.

Thanks

Richard ‘Moos3′ Guthnur

New Blog

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Ok back to a actual none custom php application for a blog. I’m still working on Operation eskimo and m3xml gallery tho. I will continue to develop and build these applications. I’m gone back to WordPress for easy maintenance, a simple adding of post and just all around simpler.
